Scale build up and prevention

I have a few interesting facts i learned about scale build up in plumbing systems. I will share them with you and talk about some ways we can help you prevent scale in your system. Home energy magazine  in 1995 estimated that 16% of your energy use in your home is attributed to heating hot water. With that in mind let me tell you what even an 1/8 inch of scale can do to  your water heater. 1/8 of an inch can increase your energy cost up to 27%. So if  you can imagine your tank type water heater that is sitting in your basement for the past 20 years and figure that most of our water in northern utah has at least 10 parts per million gallons of hard water in it. We have a Scale stopper that we can install on your water line to prevent build up on your water heater and other plumbing products. The cartridges last about 6 months depending on usage. These systems are made to be a poor substitute for a water softener. You wouldn’t need this system if your water softener is working correctly.  I will attach a picture of the system it goes on just before you water heater.
